Adrian Walraven is the Senior Director for Strategic Policy and Planning within Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada’s Education Branch. His division is working closely with the Assembly of First Nations and other First Nations representatives to strengthen the Government of Canada’s support for First Nations education, including support for First Nations seeking to implement innovative and/or system transformation initiatives aimed at improving student outcomes.

Originally from Prince George (Lheidli T’enneh traditional territory) Adrian’s parents were educators with School District 57 (Prince George). He has previous experience with education initiatives overseas, having worked for several years for the United Nations Development Programme and the Canadian International Development Agency/Global Affairs Canada prior to joining Indigenous and Northern Affairs.
